Post-Christmas Detox Time

Feeling like you might have had too much champagne, chocolate, pavlova or trifle over Christmas?

Over-eating, drinking and late nights can take their toll on your body, and whilst it is certainly fun to over-indulge over Christmas, this period can make you feel bloated, overweight, tired and not feel yourself.

If you are feeling like that into the New Year, it’s time to give your body a little break after the end-of-year excess…

Post-Christmas Detox

Post-Christmas Detox

A post-Christmas detox can help to purify your body and it can rid your body of the waste that’s accumulated there, to boost your energy levels and sense of wellbeing.

Detoxing is an important focus to make you feel better in your body. Eating plenty of antioxidant foods (rainbow colour fruits and vegetables) is a great start, also choose to eat fish or poultry or lean meat (such as Turkey) as a protein to avoid hunger. Avoid sugar and processed food.

Detox drinks usually contain some combination of water with fruit, vegetables, herbs, or other natural ingredients known to boost your body’s natural ability to eliminate toxins from your system.

Detox Shake-Up!

Here is our fresh new detox shake recipe:

  • 1-2 cups kale
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 1/4 cup parsley
  • 1/4 cucumber
  • Handful of fresh mint
  • 1 tsp Immunity Fuel

Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy with ice 😊

Detoxifying Ingredients

Kale is high in anti-cancer chemicals and antioxidants, both of which help cleanse the body of harmful toxins. Kale is also packed with tons of other vitamins and minerals that help promote detoxification.

Coconut water is high in potassium, which can flush out excess water from your body. So, it's great for detoxing, weight loss and for people with water retention problems. Coconut water also soothes the stomach, is easy to digest and prevents constipation.

Parsley's chlorophyll, which works along with flavonoids to promote the formation of glutathione –the major innate antioxidant our body has in store. It is a potent diuretic capable of reducing arterial blood pressure and enhancing the function of the kidneys.

The mixture of mint and cucumber helps in flushing out toxins from the body. Cucumber and mint when added to water are a really good combination for assisting digestion.

Immunity Fuel probiotic powder adds a powerful combination of beneficial bacteria, along with fermented super foods to increase nutritional intake.  The good bacteria help to clean out the colon and digestive tract - promoting a healthy gut and strong immune system, and the pre-digested wholefoods are instantly absorbed to replace vital nutrients at a cellular level.
