Also worth noting is that most multi-vitamins come in pill form which are often made with fillers and are difficult for the body to digest and get the full benefit from.
Q. Do I need to take a digestive enzyme?
A. Digestive enzymes are important to be able to get all the goodness out of the food you eat, and your body’s organs are able to produce all the enzymes you need to digest carbs, protein and fat. Digestive enzymes such as Amylase, Protease & Lipase are secreted by the salivary glands, stomach, pancreas, and the small intestine, and you can also get some digestive enzymes from the food you eat, such as raw fruits and vegetables, sprouted seeds, raw nuts, whole grains, and
legumes. Getting your digestive enzymes out of your food however is really dependant on how much you chew your food. When you chew your food, enzymes such as Amylase, which is produced by the salivary glands, breaks complex carbohydrates to smaller chains to aid digestion. So, the single most important thing to do is to chew your food properly to ensure the maximum digestive enzymes are produced. Fermented foods such as Immunity Fuel, which contains multiple raw wholefoods is a great source of digestive enzymes to supplement those produced by your own body.

Q. How can Immunity Fuel help my IBS?
A. IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is very common and usual symptoms of include bloating, constipation and / or diarrhoea, and abdominal discomfort. Sufferers often have lower levels of beneficial gut bacteria e.g. Bifidobacterium species, and increased levels of gut pathogens.
There are different types of IBS, and different strains of probiotics may assist in different situations. Immunity Fuel has 15 strains of LIVE probiotics (13 strains of bacteria and 2 strains of beneficial yeasts), which give a huge boost to the numbers of friendly bacteria in the gut, which may reduce inflamation and counteracting colonisation of ‘bad’ microorganisms, which often cause excess gas production and digestive discomfort. Beneficial microflora can help to break down foods which may exacerbate IBS, and healthy flora may play a part in modulating the nervous system in the gut, reducing the impact of stress on the gut, which is a key factor for many people with IBS.
Q. If you’re battling chronic candida, will this be worsened by the yeast In Immunity Fuel?
A. Candida Albicans is a yeast that we all have living in our bodies, it is completely natural and usually does not cause any issues. However, when there is an imbalance in your gut bacteria this allows the Candida to thrive and issues can start to appear. This over-population of yeast then presents itself in many different ways (such as thrush). The key to solving this problem is to bring it under control by improving the balance of good gut bacteria, along with a change in diet. Beneficial yeasts such as Saccharomyces boulardii are influential in the treatment of Candida overgrowth, as they reduce inflammation and prevent the colonization of the Candida yeast in the gastrointestinal tract. Although S. boulardii is a yeast itself, studies have shown it to reduce the levels of C. albicans in the body, by up to 90%. See more in our blog "10 Tips to Rid Your Body of Candida"
Q: Can I take Immunity Fuel when I have Diabetes?
A: Yes, Immunity Fuel is safe for people with Diabetes. Immunity Fuel does not contain added refined sugars and with only 1.5 grams of carbohydrates per serve the effect on blood glucose is minimal. Further to this, there is much evidence suggesting that probiotics may assist to reduce inflammatory response and oxidative stress, which in turn may assist to reduce insulin resistance.
Q. Can I take too much Immunity Fuel?
A. Immunity Fuel is a food hence you cannot take too much, however you may experience more intense healing responses such as an upset tummy or diarrhoea if you take a lot in one sitting. We recommend taking one or two teaspoons per day however this can be increased depending on your own body's needs and response.
Q. Can I experience a negative reaction to Immunity Fuel?
A. What you may perceive as a negative reaction, is actually the positive result of your body beginning to detox, and this is part of that process. When your body starts receiving the good bacteria and vital nutrients direct to the cells, it is able to eliminate toxins that have been stored in the cells that aren’t needed. These toxins can be stored in many parts of your body, so symptoms such as headaches or joint aches are not uncommon as the toxins are being released from these areas. ‘Bowel evacuation’ is one of the most common symptoms of the body detoxifying, as the bacteria clean out the (on average) 5-7kgs of food that we eat and gets trapped in the colon.
Q. Can a person with gluten intolerance take Immunity Fuel?
A. The wheat in Immunity Fuel has been pre-digested by the bacteria so the amount of gluten present is very very low. In many instances once the friendly bacteria are replaced the gluten intolerance disappears and you may find you can now eat wheat products. If you have Ceoliac disease then you can take the gluten free formula as this is guaranteed free of gluten.
Q. What is the difference between the Original formula and the Gluten Free formula?
A. The two formulas have the same strains of live bacteria and beneficial yeasts in them, however the whole food ingredients are different.
Whilst some of the ingredients in the Original formula contain gluten, the wholefoods have been pre-digested by the bacteria through the fermentation process, so approximately 98% of the gluten protein has already been turned into an amino acid. Therefore, anyone who is mildly gluten intolerant or choosing to be gluten free should have no issues with this product. The main thing to remember is that often issues with gluten can be caused through a bacterial deficiency in the gut, which means that there are also other proteins that the body is not processing. Once the balance of good bacteria is restored, the issues with digesting gluten can be reduced.
Our Gluten free formula is guaranteed Gluten Free, so is suitable for those with Coeliac disease or severe gluten intolerance's who could have a reaction to the tiny amount of gluten in the original formula.
Q. How many bacteria are in Immunity Fuel?
A. Every batch of Immunity Fuel is tested to ensure high numbers of active colony forming units (CFU) per gram. Each CFU has approximately 1,000,000 (1 million) bacteria in that colony (this is when there is enough bacteria to be visible as a colony and can then be counted). So if a batch test comes out at >10,000 live CFU's per gram, for example, that would mean that batch has a MINIMUM of 10,000,000,000 (10 billion) actual bacteria per gram. A child serving of 1/2 a teaspoon is approximately 1.5 grams so this would give them a MINIMUM of 15 billion bacteria, and an adult serving of 1 teaspoon is 3 grams which would be minimum 30 billion bacteria. These are minimum numbers as our bacteria are alive and so are multiplying all the time (live bacteria multiply every 20 minutes).
Q. Why doesn’t the label state how many bacteria are in the product?
A. Immunity Fuel is a food. It is manufactured via a natural fermentation process so the number of live bacteria will always vary, each batch will be different and it would be impossible to state a number of bacteria on the product label as live bacteria are constantly multiplying (and we would have to change our label for every batch!). This is why a batch test is important to ensure that there are actually LIVE bacteria in the product, this is much more important than a number. Most products that state a number of bacteria are freeze dried or in pill form where the bacteria are inert (and therefore not multiplying) when ingested, and need favourable gut conditions to reactivate in the gut, whereas Immunity Fuel is working from the moment it enters your mouth.
Q. How do I tell if Immunity Fuel is working?
A. There is no one answer to this as everybody is different and will respond differently. It will likely depend on your current diet and lifestyle as to the changes you may notice. The real question is where else are you getting your nutrients and how are you replacing the good bacteria? Both are essential to good health so regardless if your body shows major changes or subtle ones the
key is to replace bacteria daily and to saturate the body with nutrients.
Q. Where is Immunity Fuel manufactured?
A. Immunity Fuel is manufactured in Australia. All ingredients are Certified Organic and none of them have been genetically engineered. The wholefoods are combined with the bacteria and beneficial yeasts using an exclusive fermentation process, , which ensures active, viable bacteria and pre-digested, natural nutrients. Only the finest grains, legumes, grasses, herbs, and spirulina available are used to make our products.
Q. Where does the bacteria come from?
A. Our bacteria come from the soil and are bred on organic fruits and vegetables, unlike many bacteria which is taken from faecal matter. In addition, our bacteria are organic and have not been genetically modified. It was natures intention that we obtain these bacteria strains by consuming fruits and vegetables grown in the soil they originate from. However theses days our soils are so depleted of natural good bacteria we need to get them in other ways.
Q. How long will I have to take Immunity Fuel for?
A. Each day our bodies lose approximately 50mls of bacteria and therefore to replace this we need to take one teaspoon of Immunity Fuel daily for the rest of our lives. This is due to the fact that in modern society the bacteria are being killed daily through antibiotic therapy, heat and cold in the processing of foods, chemicals in fizzy drinks, stress, fluorides, chlorides, salt, and alcohol to name just a few. Once you have taken Immunity Fuel every day for a few months, then you could adjust to a maintenance dose every couple of days. the key is consistency and taking it regularly.
Q. Do I need to take a prebiotic?
A. Prebiotics are simple sugars that the bacteria require to keep them alive. Immunity Fuel contains liquid malt and molasses for the bacteria to feed on so there is no need to take a prebiotic.
Q. Do I need to take a probiotic if I am prescribed an antibiotic?
A. Yes. Antibiotics are used to destroy harmful bacteria in the body causing infection. However they also kill off the good bacteria our bodies need to stay healthy. Therefore, a good probiotic like Immunity Fuel is imperative to be taken before, during and after a course of antibiotics to ensure a healthy balance of good bacteria in the body.
Q. Does it make any difference if I take Immunity Fuel before, with, or after food?
A. Immunity Fuel can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. It is best to incorporate it into your daily routine, and not to be mixed with hot foods or beverages, as this may affect the integrity of the bacteria.
Q. How are the bacteria in Immunity Fuel different from other bacteria?
A. There are 13 strains of Lactobacillus Bacteria in Immunity Fuel. These bacteria are organic and are taken from fruits and vegetables. Eighteen years of research and $2.5m have been invested to evolve these bacteria into a super strain that are resistant to many of the things that could kill them. The formula also contains all of their favourite foods so they do not compete with each other to protect their food source.
Q. If the bacteria are heat resistant why do I have to refrigerate the product?
A. The bacteria in Immunity Fuel have been bred to withstand temperatures of up to 55°C for up to a week, and therefore Immunity Fuel does not need to be refrigerated to keep the bacteria alive. However as it is a food, for ultimate protection of the nutrients once opened you may wish to keep your Immunity Fuel refrigerated like any other food, or kept in a cool dry place.
Q. How long does the product last?
A. The shelf life of Immunity Fuel is 2 years.
Q. I would like to make frozen smoothies for the kids, what effect would freezing have on Immunity Fuel?
A. Freezing has no effect on the bacteria so frozen smoothies are fine.
Q. Can I use this product as a starter for yoghurt?
A. Yes the bacteria are alive and therefore Immunity Fuel makes an excellent starter for yoghurt. Use 1 teaspoon of Immunity Fuel per 1 litre of milk.
Q. I feel sick after taking Immunity Fuel, what is happening?
A. Some people experience what is called a “healing response". Most people are very toxic from the effects of prescription drugs, bad eating habits and an accumulation of preservatives eaten over the years. Once the body starts to receive proper nutrients and the good bacteria start to destroy the bad bacteria a healing response may follow. This is a good sign - it means the body is detoxifying itself and it is important to continue taking the product throughout the healing process to ensure the health benefits are realised. Some people experience aches or pains, some flu like symptoms, diarrhoea, or a general unwell feeling. This can last up to a week. If it becomes too uncomfortable then take less Immunity Fuel until the healing response passes. Also drink lots of water to assist the elimination process.
Q. When I first took Immunity Fuel I felt better but now all my symptoms have come back even worse than ever. Why is this?
A. It takes years for the body to decline in health. When you start the road to recovery you walk back up the road of decline. You do not instantly move to good health, the body has to heal itself again and this takes time. Many experience the hit of feeling good and then as the body goes through its healing response you may feel bad for a while. If you had a particular problem that went away it may just have gone into dormancy. When the body starts to heal itself a battle erupts with the problem trying to survive and this battle is what is possibly being experienced as a feeling of “worse than ever". Follow the advice given in the healing response answer above.
Q. I am allergic to one of the ingredients should I still take it?
A. It really depends on the severity of your allergic responce to that ingredients. For a severe allergy, No, don't risk it. Other than that, since the ingredients have been pre-digested by the bacteria you should have no problem. However it is prudent to be careful so try just a ½ teaspoon and see how your body responds. Most allergies to foods are the result of the improper balance of bacteria in your intestinal tract. You may find after using the product that these allergies disappear.
Q. I am currently taking Apple Cider Vinegar before every meal. Will the vinegar have a negative effect on the Immunity Fuel?
A. The apple cider vinegar will not harm the bacteria in Immunity Fuel as they have been bred to withstand such things. Once the cider vinegar is in the gut it becomes alkaline which is one reason why it is so good for us. We would suggest that you do take it separately though. Other than that they will compliment each other very well.
Q. What tests have been done to prove your live bacteria actually makes it through the stomach acid "alive" and then into the intestines still "alive"?
A. Over 18 years of research and 2.5 million dollars of investment was spent to develop a super strain of bacteria that is contained in Immunity Fuel. The main killers of bacteria were identified, which include anti-biotic therapy, colas, synthetic ascorbic acid, heat, cold, fluorides, chlorine's, preservatives, salt, alcohol, and stress, and through a unique process the bacteria contained in Immunity Fuel have been evolved to be resistant to most of these killers. This resulted in a super strain of bacteria that have the power to overcome even the most stubborn bad bacteria, yeasts and stomach environments.
Q. Why shoud I take Immunity Fuel?
A. Much of the time disease can be the reult of poor nutrition and a symptom of an intestinal tract that has been compromised. The single greatest thing we can do to protect our health is to replace the bacteria that are responsible for all nutrient absorption, the making of enzymes and getting rid
of the bad bacteria. Add to this a nutrient saturation formula that provides all the essential nutrients from organic whole food sources. This daily ritual will become the most important thing you can do in life. Once people realize the relationship of bacteria, nutrients and good health, then it becomes very easy to understand the importance of taking a good quality probiotic superfood such as Immunity Fuel.
Q. How do I know if Immunity Fuel will help me with my specific problem?
A. We are not Medical Practitioners so we make no claims, however Immunity Fuel provides the raw materials the body needs in order to heal itself. The body is a complex chemical factory capable of healing itself of any problem as long as it has the raw materials in the form of whole food nutrients available and as long as the intestinal tract is healthy with the proper balance of good and bad bacteria. The secret to combating any problem in the body is to unleash and assist its potential to heal itself. We do this by providing the whole food nutrients that assist the immune system. The front line defence and offense of the immune system is the friendly bacteria. Then having a vast array of nutrients in the form of amino acids, anti oxidants, vitamins, minerals and enzymes provides the needed raw materials so the immune system has what it needs to get the job done.

HDPE #2 is one of the only types of plastics now accepted for kerbside recycling in NZ. HDPE plastic is very hard-wearing and does not break down under exposure to sunlight or extremes of heating or freezing, so is perfect for keeping our food products safe. Unlike more transparent forms of plastic, HDPE is opaque and more resistant to heat and is BPA free.
